SV: Season 11 makes me want to cry...in a good way!! I seriously enjoyed the first issue so there goes more of my money :D

WARNING: contains potentially spoilery images from 52: Superman #0

img003 No stupid extra boxes! NO STUPID EXTRA BOXES!!! YES! What an issue to come back too: zombie presidents and a cracky Batman reference!  :D *is happy*

img005 I've only actually read one other comic where Lara & Jor-El had a prominent role and that was The Last Family of Krypton. They didn't really leave that big an impression on me but this is devoted to the absolute awesomeness that is Kal-El's birth parents. Jor-El is a smarty pants who needs his wife to save him from his smarty pants ways (there is a moment in the beginning where a little arrogance worms its way in :P) and Lara is a kickarse Military Scientist XD

kickass

Gender equality has been running through my head a bit lately (mostly due to horrors like Cabin in the Woods & the re-vamped Friday the 13th) so when I saw this:
wonderwoman  I was a annoyed...Though not for long because the artist came through and gave us this:
datass I don't mind naked woman or butt shots...as long as there are naked men and their butts right along side them. Just to, you know, keep everything equal ;P
Overall I'm very happy with all my purchases today *happy fangirl dance*

I really want to read the Smallville comics. They're probably the only thing since the reboot that hasn't given me a headache every time I hear about it. I haven't picked up a new comic since the reboot (only old graphic novels) and that makes me sad since I used to buy them every two weeks.

If the series continues on like the first issue you really should pick it up :) I'll put a few scans up if you want??

That would be wonderful! Thank you. :)

How come??

The only change that's been interesting to me is Cyborg being in Justice League. Nearly everything else either bores me or majorly pisses me off. It just isn't worth it anymore and they've screwed me over with almost all of my favorite characters in some way so I stopped caring. Now I'm trying to figure out what good DC graphic novels/comics I still need and I've become interested in Marvel because, let's face it, I can't just not have new superhero things in my life.

I do want to get the Smallville graphic novels and I've heard really good things about Batwoman and Justice League Dark or whatever it's called (the one with Zatanna) so I'm looking into those as well.

Totally get that. There are too many characters/titles that DC have glossed over or just plain ignored to really enjoy 52. I'm still trying to figure out which ones are worth following. Thing is there's so much of one thing (how many Bat titles are still going?!) and it makes it seem like DC have confused quanitity with quality.

Oooh, yeah. Marvel does look pretty inviting at the moment. X-Men looks like it could be pretty epic.

Yes, the Bat titles are ridiculous! And now there's yet another person in the Batfamily named Batwing... I mean, really? Batwing??

I would highly recommend Joss Whedon's X-Men story. It's four volumes and it made me like characters I wasn't even familiar with outside of the cartoons/movies. I'm halfway through the last volume at the moment and I also got Spider-Man's Civil War graphic novel (I only have two or three issues from when it was happening) and the Avengers Civil War graphic novel which is a hardcover with over 500 pages. I'm going to dig into those two once I'm finished with my last test tomorrow.

Batwing? Is s/he part of that whole Batman Inc thing?? :/

Nearly everything touched by Joss is gold :P
The whole Civil War thing is kind of intimidating, there's so many crossovers etc (bit like Blackest Night & Crisis which I tried to stay away from) and tbh Captain America seems a bit...uninteresting? I read a few issues of The Ultimates and the characters were neither endearing nor nice :/

I'm pretty sure he is. I've seen him and Nightwing together but I have no idea what his story is.

I think the Avengers one with the 500+ pages has the core of it. I'll let you know. Also I have to look more into Captain America. I've always been kinda shifty eyed towards even the idea that he's still a thing (overly patriotic things in this country make me uncomfortable haha) but I was really surprised that I loved him as a person in the movies. I got a CA graphic novel last month and the story was confusing at times but Steve reminded me of Clark a bit. If the writing was better, I'd say check it out but, good lord, some parts were a chore to get through. I'll recommend you GNs as I go through my Marvel journey, though. :) Get Joss' X-Men!

I felt the same way about the Ultimates. I've always liked Spider-Man but I had to give the Ultimate Spider-Man I had to my cousin because I was not here for that Peter Parker.

LOL I was gonna give my Spiderman to my nephew but had to reconsider cause of his age. I'm pretty sure The Sister would have disapproved :P

Is that Astonishing X-Men or a different one?? Had a quick peek on Amazon and from the looks of it hes been writing AX-M for a fair few years and consistency with writers is nearly always good.

Thanks, that would be great :) I think Deadpool had a part in Civil War so it would be nice to know if it's worth picking up (if only so I can have more Pooly goodness :))
